2016-17 Season Dates

Save the dates for our upcoming concerts in our 62nd season.  You won’t want to miss them!

Orch’apalooza! – Festival of Youth Orchestras, with special guest Midori

In the grand finale of Midori’s residency on January 29, 2017 at 3:00 pm, Midori and all three of the Marin Symphony’s Youth ensembles will perform at Veterans’ Memorial Auditorium.  Midori will be the soloist in Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto and will also perform alongside three Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra musicians in Vivaldi’s Concerto for Four Violins.   The program will also include selections from Rimsky-Korsakov’s masterpiece, “Scheherazade.” In what is sure to be an energetic finale, all three of our youth ensembles (160 musicians ages 8-18) will join forces to perform the rousing “Toreador March” from Bizet’s Carmen.

Symphony Day with MSYO & Midori

This concert event is free and open to fourth-grade students in Marin County. Seating is limited and granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are required in advance of the performance; interested schools and educators should direct inquiries to Jenny Douglass, director of Education & Community engagement, at education@marinsymphony.org.
