In addition to five minutes of a solo (portion of one movement or two contrasting sections from standard repertoire) demonstrating both slow and fast playing, and 3-octave scales and arpeggios in the following major keys: G, A-flat, A, B-flat, B, C, D, E-flat, and E, returning members and new candidates should prepare the following orchestral excerpts from Verdi’s Nebucodonosor. Performances should demonstrate accurate notes, intonation, rhythms, and approximate tempo you would hear on any recording.
