Visiting Artists Program

ZB@Hamilton5Each season, the Marin Symphony arranges for our guest artists to share their talents with youth in our community through our Visiting Artists Program. These presentations feature a live solo performance and an enlightening conversation about music.

Our guest artists play a variety of different instruments and come from all over the world. Each artist offers students their own insights on music and shares personal stories about how music has impacted their lives. These lovely solo performances and informal discussions inspire students of all ages – whether they are musically inclined or not.

This program is available to Marin County primary and middle schools and can be arranged through the Marin Symphony office.

In September 2014, cellist Zuill Bailey visited more than 2,200 students at 17 schools over a 7 day period. His impact was felt by students, teachers and administrators alike.

Zuill Bailey’s performance was mesmerizing. Most of the students had never experienced this type of performance, they were amazed and engaged throughout Mr. Bailey’s performance.

What a wonderful opportunity it was for our students to experience this beautiful moment with Mr. Bailey! The students were so excited about the concert that we actually Googled him straight away and found his “tiny desk concert” and watched and listened again to The Cello Song! Thank you so much!

It is invaluable for advanced music students to have the experience of hearing from outside international performers–thank you for bringing this guest to us!

It was fantastic and inspiring – thanks so much!
