Music Director finalist candidate Robert Kahn joins the Marin Symphony for a musical journey, starting with British composer Coleridge-Taylor’s vivacious Ballade. Our brilliant Principal Viola Jenny Douglass stars in Jennifer Higdon’s gorgeous and virtuosic concerto, and we end with Brahms’s great final symphony, a whole journey unto itself. The Church of Saint Raphael, at 5th and A in downtown San Rafael. Ticket holders admitted at main entrance and west
side entrance. Will Call tickets and additional tickets for purchase (subject to availability) at the main entrance only.

TIME
Seating is open. Please note that many attendees arrive early to ensure their desired seats.
Doors open one hour prior to the performance, which is approximately 90 minutes.

PARKING
• Free street parking. Meters are inactive from 6pm Saturday, and all day on Sunday.
• San Rafael A Street Garage. 400 spaces. Enter from A Street between 3rd and 4th Avenues.
Elevator takes you to A Street, one block from the Church of Saint Raphael.
• Parking Lot at 5th and C. Two blocks west of the church, 100 spaces.
• Parking Lot at 5th and Lootens Place. Two blocks east of the church, 30 spaces.
• An entrance for people with limited mobility is located at the west side of the church.

What would a movie be without its powerful score? Composer John Williams brought movies like Star Wars, E.T., Harry Potter, Schindler’s List, and Jaws to life with his remarkable ability to give films a musical voice. Celebrate the music of this Academy Award winner under the baton of principal pops conductor Stuart Chafetz, and don’t miss this extravaganza featuring the spectacular sounds of the Marin Symphony!

Maurice Ravel: Introduction et Allegro, for Harp, Flute, Clarinet, and String Quartet

Harp takes center stage in this program of French masterworks. Marin Symphony stars perform Debussy’s ineffable Sonata, which inspired an entire repertoire for flute, viola, and harp, alongside Ravel’s effervescent and virtuosic work.

Last season we created a concert putting the spotlight on our wonderful Marin Symphony Chorus. It was a huge success, so we’re doing it again! Under the direction of Kevin Fox, and joined by Marin Symphony players, come and enjoy the genius of Mozart with this fine choral ensemble.

Music Director finalist Fawzi Haimor starts the festivities with Ramal, by the talented Syrian/American Kareem Roustom. Marin Symphony Principal Flute MyungJu Yeo and Principal Harp Dan Levitan join forces in Mozart’s charming double concerto, and we end with the abundant joys of Dvořák’s final Symphony. We end our season with our fourth Music Director finalist Brad Hogarth in a wonderfully wide-ranging program. We start and end with fire, traversing the centuries from Handel’s celebratory Fireworks to Stravinsky’s fantastical Firebird. Marin Symphony Concertmaster, the redoubtable Ani Bukujian, steps forward in Prokofiev’s flavorful, virtuosic concerto. Link to Brad’s website.
