Masterworks 4: Hogarth Conducts Firebird
Brad Hogarth, conductor
Ani Bukujian, violin
PROGRAM:
George Frideric Handel: Overture from Music for the Royal Fireworks
Sergei Prokofiev: Violin Concerto No.1 in D Major, Op.19
Maurice Ravel: Ma mère l’Oye (Mother Goose) Suite
Igor Stravinsky: Firebird Suite
We end our season with our fourth Music Director finalist Brad Hogarth in a wonderfully wide-ranging program. We start and end with fire, traversing the centuries from Handel’s celebratory Fireworks to Stravinsky’s fantastical Firebird. Marin Symphony Concertmaster, the redoubtable Ani Bukujian, steps forward in Prokofiev’s flavorful, virtuosic concerto. Link to Brad’s website.
Stay after the concert for a Q & A with the conductor candidate!
